EVENT IS SOLD OUT!

Enjoy the Garden at night! Bring your own chairs or blanket to spread out on the lawn and look up at the night sky. A telescope will be set up at the top of the Tandy Floral Terraces, with Garden staff on hand to facilitate viewings of stellar, planetary and deep sky objects.

Only red flashlights are encouraged, to improve our night vision. We are limiting the number of tickets for this event, so please register soon if you’re interested in coming. If the weather forces us to cancel this event, we will offer an alternate date or a refund.  Any announcement regarding cancellation will be made by noon on the event day.

The red(-dish) planet Mars will be at opposition on October 14, providing us with some of our best viewing, from the closest vantage point of the year. Also, the sky will be moon-free, so we will try our telescope on several deep sky objects, such as nebulae (100-500 light years distant) and galaxies neighboring the Milky Way (>2.5 million light years distant!)

TICKETS for ages 3 and up are $10 per person for Garden members and $15 per person for non-members.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

SAFETY: Please wear a mask when inside the visitor center and restrooms and anytime outside when physically distancing from others is not possible.

Thank you for your interest.  EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
