Assistant Director of Development
The Tulsa Botanic Garden is looking for a dynamic and motivated Assistant Director of Development to grow development and financial opportunities. The successful candidate will be a forward thinker with an enthusiastic personality who is computer and technology savvy. As a non-profit organization we work together to promote the beauty of plants and nature while building and sustaining an exceptional botanical garden. We are passionate about educating guests, rooting ourselves in the community and using our creative minds and skills to further the growth of the Garden.
The Assistant Director of Development will be responsible for all grant writing and research along with maintaining and organizing the membership program. This will be a key role therefore proven ability to cultivate relationships, implement strategies to garner financial support, along with effective communication skills will be required.

Job Duty Highlights:
- Responsible for all grant writing and research
- Work with the Director of Development to create campaign drives to support retention and growth
- Consistent communication with members, donors, foundations and community partners
- Sell event and corporate sponsorships
- Maintain and grow the membership program while using the CRM to identify potential donors and sponsors along with fundraising trends
- Collaborate with departments regarding funding needs, grant requirements and research
- Assist with special events and programs as needed, including seasonal nights and weekends
Job Qualifications and Highlights:
- Successful grant writing and fundraising experience preferred
- Previous non-profit experience preferred
- Computer and technology savvy
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated, self-starter and willing to take initiative
- Effective problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Forward thinker, organized and detail oriented
- Positive and enthusiastic personality
- Valid Driver’s License
Working Conditions and Environmental Exposures:
The position will at times be a seated, indoor office position and at other times will require extensive walking, stooping and lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have exposure to outside weather conditions and uneven, unpaved terrain. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. The employee may be asked to lift 50+ pounds.

Visitor Center Associate
Department: Member Services
Reports to: Visitor Center Manager
Supervisor of: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Classification: Part-time, Hourly (maximum 30 per week)
Position Summary:
This position serves as the front-line ambassador for Tulsa Botanic Garden with a focus on hospitality and creating welcoming positive interactions for all guests, while also efficiently handling daily work duties.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and orient guests
- Provide information, history and future development plan while promoting and answering questions regarding memberships and upcoming events and programs
- Process all admissions, memberships and Gift Shop transactions within the CRM
- Accurately handle and reconcile cash and credit card transactions
- Use established procedures to open and close the Visitor Center and other facilities as needed, including cleaning and preparing guest areas
- Tidy and restock Gift Shop items
- Mitigate guest concerns, gather and share feedback with management
- Assist with special events and projects as requested
- Work with volunteers
- Assist with answering phones as needed
- Perform other assigned tasks related to the position
Minimum Job Qualifications and Competencies:
- Appropriate degree, certifications and/or applicable experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current ABLE license or ability to obtain
- Microsoft and Windows familiarity
- CRM and POS experience
- Cash handling experience
- Familiarity with the outdoors/gardens is favorable
- Strong customer service skills
- Display a friendly and helpful demeanor
- Ability to problem-solve and multitask while remaining organized
- Ability to work independently
- Availability to work days, nights or weekends depending on the season and scheduled events
