Learn about wild edible plants you may have in your own yard! Margee Aycock and Jess Fussell, both long-time foragers, will lead a walk to identify some of the edible native plants of our area. Margee is  artist and author of the children’s book, “Claire Goes Foraging”, which tells the story of Claire and her neighbor Celeste as they explore their own backyards and create a meal from foraged “weeds’. Book includes information on wild edible plants.

Walk will be geared for families with children, but all ages are welcome. Following the walk, participants can taste sumac lemonade in the visitor center.  Copies of Aycock’s book will be available for sale, ($14), with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Botanic Garden.

The Botanic Garden is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Suggested admission is $2 for adults and 50¢ for children 3-12 yrs. Free for Garden members. For more information, call 918-289-0330. For map/directions, click here.
