November 2025: Fall Foliage and Holiday Workshops
November 2025 at the Garden: Food Drive, Fresh Air & Fall Colors🌿
As the air turns crisp and leaves begin to drift, November is a perfect time for a relaxed walk in the Garden or a seasonal workshop!
On warm days you may find pollinators visiting the aromatic asters and perennial mums blooming. Look for fall color in leaves on trees like sassafras, pawpaw, spicebush as well as maples and oaks. Keep an eye out for ‘Harvest Moon’ witch hazel blooming in the Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden. Now’s also the time when ornamental grasses are blooming and looking their best! ‘White Cloud’ muhly grass in the Lawn Terrace of the Tandy Floral Terraces turns heads this time of year.
Fall is also a great time for a hike on our Cross Timbers Nature Trail! You may see some fall color in the woods from hickory and oaks, and the big bluestem and other native grasses are at their tallest and most impressive this time of year! Be sure to walk through the Jim and Cherry Bost Arboretum for fall foliage and colorful berries on shrubs like chokecherry.
Start making your plans to attend Botanic Garden of Lights which opens on Friday, Nov. 28. See the lineup for Sunday Jazz Nights, when Santa will visit and more. Advance tickets are recommended as popular days and times do sell out!
