We really enjoyed watching the new plants that were added this spring as they grew at the Garden.  Here are a couple that many visitors wanted to know more about:

    

 Hairy Balls, Furry Balls, Balloon Plant
 Gomphocarpus physocarpus

 This milkweed native to Africa put on a show throughout the season: beautiful white milkweed flowers followed by the trademark fruit.

 Bed of Nails
 Solanum quitoense

 The menacing-looking spines along the leaf veins and stem catch everyone’s eyes. The fruits are held close to the stem of the plant.
