DESCRIPTION:Calling all Scarecrows! Tulsa Botanic Garden is accepting registrations for entry into their annual scarecrow contest. Artists\, schools\, scouts\, businesses\, families – anyone – can enter a scarecrow to be displayed during the Garden’s Autumn in the Botanic Garden festival from September 22 to October 30. Visitors to the event will vote for the People’s Choice winner and there will also be a Best in Show award. Deadline to register is September 5 and scarecrow drop off dates are September 16\, 17 and 19.

DESCRIPTION:Our annual Autumn in the Botanic Garden festival kicks off Thursday\, September 22 and runs through Sunday\, October 30\, 2022. The Garden will be open Tuesday through Sunday\, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with late hours (open until 8 p.m.) on Thursdays\, during Autumn in the Botanic Garden \nTuesday-Sunday (included with regular admission): Explore our Oklahoma-shaped straw hay maze and shop from over 14 varieties of pumpkins and gourds as well as dried heirloom cob corn.  \nSee the display of scarecrows created by students\, artists\, families\, friends\, businesses and organizations and vote for your favorite to win this year’s People’s Choice Award.  \nPick up our fall-themed garden scavenger hunt and see what you can find while strolling through our lush gardens. \nEvery Thursday 6-8 p.m.: Bands & Blooms features live music from 6-8 p.m. along with food and drink options\, including local beer\, wine and cocktails. Local ice cream cart Cherry & Bark will be on hand every week with ice cream for sale. Food and drinks available starting 5:30 p.m. from our Garden of Eatin’\, and some dates will also include a food truck (V’Fresco on 10/27).  Visitors can bring chairs or blankets to enjoy music on the lawn or while strolling the Garden. \nBands & Blooms 2022 is supported in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.  \n       \nBands & Blooms 2022 schedule: \n\nThursday\, September 22: Annie Ellicott\nThursday\, September 29: Two Crows for Comfort\nThursday\, October 6: Booker Gillespie Trio\nThursday\, October 13: Hot Toast Music Company\nThursday\, October 20: Manta Rays\nThursday\, October 27: Autumn Shade with Oklahoma Performing Arts\, a nonprofit arts education program for Tulsa-area youth\, will provide opening and intermission performance \n\nRegular admission applies for Bands & Blooms (see pricing for BOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating below). \nThursday nights in October will include optional family-friendly BOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating trail with eight fun\, educational nature-themed stations including “Maggot Painting” offered in partnership with OSU Entomology Department. Each child gets a trick-or-treat bag with their trick-or-treating ticket to collect unique treats like bug\, bird and wildlife trading cards\, insect toys\, vegetable seeds for planting\, candy and more. There will also be a kids’ costume contest at 7 p.m. each week on the Great Lawn. Cost for participating in the BOO-tanical trick-or-treating is $10/child in advance\, $12 day of\, in addition to a regular admission ticket.
