DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the Botanic Garden’s broad skies at night! Come out for a sunset stroll in the Garden before the skies darken for our stargazing. Telescopes will be set out at the bottom of the Tandy Floral Terraces and members of the Astronomy Club of Tulsa will be sharing their knowledge of stellar\, planetary and deep sky objects. Skies will be dark about 7:20 for viewing Jupiter and Saturn as they rise in the east. Doors and our Botanic Bar open at 6 p.m. \n  \nDay-of: Online ticket sales will close at 5 p.m. but tickets will be available at the door. \nTICKETS for ages 3 and up are $15 per person for members and $20 per person for non-members.

SUMMARY:BOOtanical Bands & Blooms: Manta Rays
DESCRIPTION:Tulsa-based rock band Manta Rays formed in the summer of 2016 by high-school friends Jackson Gillett (songwriter\, lead vocals\, rhythm guitar)\, Britton Gregory (bass\, backup vocals) and Ronnie Bunn (drums). Manta Rays later added Tristan Wright (lead guitar) to complete the group that sounds like a bridge between the classic songwriting style of the ‘60s and ‘70s with the more contemporary vibes of new age indie and Brit-rock. While Gillett’s lyrics on their 2019 debut album ‘Dust’ are often introspective they carry the weight of growing up in an increasingly-strange world with a lighthearted charm that is impossible to resist; both on the record and at their consistently packed-out live shows. Manta Ray’s are now working on their second studio album. \nWatch their latest video on YouTube.  \nFood and drinks will be available for sale at 5:30pm including beer\, wine\, cocktails\, non-alcoholic drinks\, hot dogs and more. Our Garden of Eatin’ will be selling food along with local ice cream cart Cherry & Bark. \nBands & Blooms is supported in part by Oklahoma Arts Council and The National Endowment for the Arts.\n       \nBOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating \nIn addition to live music\, food and drink\, Thursday nights in October will include optional family-friendly BOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating trail with eight fun\, educational nature-themed stations including “Maggot Painting” or “Termite Races” offered in partnership with OSU Entomology Department. \nEach child gets a trick-or-treat bag with their trick-or-treating ticket to collect unique treats like bug\, bird and wildlife trading cards\, insect toys\, vegetable seeds for planting\, candy and more. Assignments will then be given to cover all areas of the Garden! Tasks include engaging with guests\, answering questions\, fire pit assistance\, train assistance\, concession replenishment\, clearing tables\, maintaining a clean dining room\, and checking restrooms. Their bohemian folk music is an intertwining of melodic harmonies\, strings\, and a bit of haunting fairy magic.  They have released 3 albums (with Strange Attractors Audio House out of Portland and More Than Folk records out of Paris) and have another in the works. Jes has toured throughout Europe and opened for Smogs Bill Callahan while Jordan\, Nathan\, and Sharla have been staples in the Tulsa music scene for over  a decade.  \nFood and drinks will be available for sale at 5:30 pm including beer\, wine\, cocktails\, non-alcoholic drinks\, hot dogs and more. Pups must be up-to-date on all registrations and vaccinations and must be controlled on a non-retractable leash at all times. Owners are required to clean up after their pets.  We reserve the right to demand unruly dogs (and owners) leave our premises immediately. \nDogs are free in November! \nFrom 12 to 3 p.m.\, we will be offering FREE professional holiday photos for guests! Pose with your pups and check those holiday card photos off your to-do list. \nAbout the photographer: Miranda Due is a Tulsa native with a passion for pets and photos! Miranda is a video game producer and a part time portrait and event photographer.
