DESCRIPTION:presented in partnership with Humble Warrior Collective \nFeel the Flow for the New Year! \nGuests will enjoy a gentle\, reflective yoga session hosted by our friends at the Humble Warrior Collective\, with the magical tapestry of sunset\, leading into the evening’s full moon – known as the Wolf Moon; it’s the first full moon of the year. \nThis class will be held indoors\, inside the Tulsa Botanic Garden’s Mabee Grange event center. \nWe will embrace the energy of the current full moon with calming\, grounding poses\, gentle breathwork\, and introspective meditation to invite a sense of peace and connection with nature. We will have some “make and take” art projects as well\, so there will be activities for all to enjoy. Light refreshments will be available. \n• Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to park and walk directly to the Mabee Grange event center for check-in. Class will begin at 7:00 p.m.\n• Mats\, blocks\, and blankets are provided by the instructor\, but you’re welcome to bring your own favorite Yoga equipment. \n**Advance purchase required – the Garden is CLOSED in January\, and all guests will need to have a ticket for entry. DESCRIPTION:Join us for this MEMBERS ONLY event as we anticipate the Oklahoma debut of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN at the Botanic Garden in March! We’ll watch the multiple award-winning documentary film Origami in the Garden and learn more about Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box\, the origami masters they collaborate with and how they create the monumental metal sculptures in their exhibitions. Kevin Box grew up in Bartlesville\, Oklahoma! \nDETAILS:\nThis Member-Only Event is FREE with reserved ticket and will be held inside our Mabee Grange event center. Gates open at 1:30 p.m.  Show tickets at Visitor Center and take short walk over to the Mabee Grange where the film will be shown. A self-led activity for children will be available in the Grange during the event. and refreshments will be available for purchase. The traveling exhibition of outdoor sculptures has been experienced by over 2.5 million visitors to gardens and museums across North America. \nFLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN is the newest exhibition by Jennifer and Kevin Box and features larger-than-life museum-quality sculptures of blooming flowers\, butterflies\, birds and other flora and fauna. The colorful\, whimsical and kinetic sculptures include Box’s own compositions as well as collaborations with world-renowned origami artists Te Jui Fu\, Beth Johnson\, Michael G. Gordon: Born in 1953 in Claremore\, Oklahoma\, Patrick S. Gordon gained national attention with a series of solo exhibitions\, beginning in 1982 at New York City’s Fischbach Gallery\, and later at Joseph Gierek Fine Art in Patrick’s newly-adopted hometown of Tulsa. Since then\, he has continually exhibited at numerous prominent galleries around the country\, and has been featured in notable museum shows and competitions. His works can be found in important private\, corporate and museum collections throughout the United States. Print editions of Patrick’s work are widely popular with collectors throughout the world.

DESCRIPTION:GARDEN MEMBERS – Join us for a workshop with instructor Mae Dean Erb to learn about origami\, the Japanese art of paper folding\, and create your own works of art! With spring\, and the Oklahoma debut of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN exhibition at the Garden in sight\, Mae Dean will focus on creating origami flowers\, birds and butterflies. All materials will be supplied. All ages are welcome.  \nDETAILS:\nWorkshop will be held inside our Mabee Grange event center. Drinks and refreshments will be available for purchase. Garden members will also be able to shop the Member Only Gift Shop clearance sale in the Visitor Center.  Gates will open at 1:30 p.m. to allow time for ticket check-in at Visitor Center and short walk through the Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden to the Mabee Grange Event Center.  Other areas of the Garden will not be open for visitation.  \nTICKETS: \nBecause workshop size is limited\, we require members to reserve their space with a $0 ticket. This event is open to Garden members only.  Not a member?  Join today!  \n   \nABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: \nMae Dean Erb holds a Masters Degree in Education and is a board certified educator. She presents Origami programs in libraries across the state of Oklahoma\, as well as nationally and internationally.  \nMae Dean received a Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship to Japan\, and also lived in Okinawa\, Japan for two years\, where she gained firsthand insight into this ancient Japanese artform. Mae Dean was named Teacher of the Year for El Reno Public Schools and was a finalist for Oklahoma’s Teacher of the Year. She has also received the Origami USA Teaching Award.

SUMMARY:Opening Day of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN
DESCRIPTION:FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN showcases 20 installations of museum-quality metal sculptures inspired by origami\, the centuries-old Japanese art of folding paper. The larger-than-life sculptures of blooming flowers\, birds\, grazing deer\, galloping ponies\, and other flora and fauna themes will be exhibited throughout the five formal gardens at Tulsa Botanic Garden. The Oklahoma debut will also premier three new pieces by Kevin Box\, including a 17ft. tall kinetic sculpture of colorful butterflies that will float above floral displays. \nKevin Box grew up in Bartlesville\, OK and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His work has received numerous awards and is held in prominent collections worldwide. In 2004\, he was the youngest member ever elected to the National Sculptors’ Guild. \nFLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN features Box’s own compositions as well as collaborations with his wife\, Jennifer\, and world-renowned origami artists Te Jui Fu\, Beth Johnson\, Michael G. LaFosse and Robert J. Lang. \nThe exhibit includes interpretive information and cast metal examples of origami folded and unfolded. After the yoga session\, guests are invited to enjoy the splendor of the Garden’s spring blooms of thousands of tulips\, daffodils and more. Our First Friday Horticulture Tour will be offered free at 10:30 a.m.\n** UPDATE: Session will be INSIDE our Mabee Grange Event Center. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to welcome students from Harmony Project Tulsa as they present their spring concert\, “Bloom and Shine!” featuring songs inspired by nature\, sunshine\, and new beginnings\, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Botanic Garden. \nBring a blanket or chairs if you like and join us on the lawn to celebrate these talented young singers and musicians as they demonstrate their growth and creativity through song and performances on stringed instruments such as guitar\, violin\, cello\, and ukulele. \nPrepare for an uplifting experience filled with heartwarming music that will leave everyone with a smile as we celebrate their blossoming talents! \nFree with Garden admission!  \nAdmission Tickets: \nFree for Garden members; Non-members:  Ages 16+: $15\, Ages 3-15: $10; Ages 2 and under are free.  \nAdmission Tickets include seeing the colorful\, monumental sculptures of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN on exhibit through Sept. 21\, 2025 \nMuseum for All Tickets: \nFamilies with valid WIC or SNAP card or Oklahoma Foster Parent Benefit Card can purchase discounted tickets at the door by showing their valid card and a photo ID with matching name.  Up to 4 tickets may be purchased.\nDiscounted prices are: $6 for ages 16 and up\, $1 or ages 3-15. Ages 2 and under are free. All transactions at the Garden are cashless. Prices do not include sales tax and processing fees.  \nHarmony Project Tulsa (HPT) is a multi-year\, music-based\, after-school mentoring program that gives daily academic tutoring\, string instrument instruction\, and music lessons to students in at-risk communities. They follow students from pre-k through high school graduation. HPT is one of nine affiliates of Harmony Project of America\, based on the award-winning Harmony Project Los Angeles.

Local restaurants including Bodean\, Biga\, Roosevelt’s and more will provide savory bites along the path as you stroll past colorful blossoms and intoxicating fragrances. Sip on wine\, beer\, cocktails\, or mocktails and soak in nature’s ambience\, enjoy live music and stroll with your favorite folks in our garden wonderland!  \nThis year’s party will be even MORE colorful with FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN- an exhibition from Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box. No outside food and drink is allowed on Thursday nights. All transactions at the Garden are cashless. \nMENU \nMUSIC: 6-8 p.m.\nStephanie Oliver is a versatile vocalist and percussionist\, who revels in genre-jumping and doesn’t feel the need to relegate herself to any one style of music. One thing that’s always evident in her recordings and performances is the sheer joy it brings her to sing and play music. \nYour admission includes exploring the artworks of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN that are set throughout our 5 gardens. (closed July 4) It’s a great time for photography\, birdwatching or a stroll through the Garden as our horticulture team prepares for opening.
