Starting his professional career as a rock drummer at the young age of 17\, he has evolved into an internationally recognized virtuoso jazz vibraphonist and composer. His dedication to jazz led him from upstate NY to the bustling streets of NYC to LA\, and ultimately\, Tulsa OK; where he remains an in-demand musician and performer world-wide. \nMancini feels his career truly took flight in the vibrant LA creative music scene. He has left an indelible mark in the industry\, earning accolades and recognition from peers and audiences alike. DRUM Magazine’s Reader’s Poll named him “Best Jazz Percussionist” on vibes and in 2011 was named honoree at the Los Angeles Jazz Vibes Summit \nNot only is Nick Mancini a dynamic performer and composer\, but he is also a dedicated educator. Since 1998\, he has maintained a private teaching studio which has served well over 150 students\, he taught vibes and was a jazz combo coach at the California State Universities at Northridge and Long Beach\, and taught vibraphone at the prestigious Herbie Hancock Institute. DESCRIPTION:Join Garden staff for a guided hike on our Cross Timbers Nature Trail (0.8-mile loop) and take in wide winter skies and a glowing sunset. \nBefore heading out\, enjoy a short presentation from 3:30–4 p.m. in the Mabee Grange Event Center\, where you’ll learn about the unique features of the Cross Timbers ecoregion and how Garden staff are working to enhance this special area of the Garden. \nAfter the hike\, warm up by a fire pit or relax indoors at the Mabee Grange while enjoying hot cocoa or other beverages from the bar. Light bites will also be available for purchase (cashless transactions only).   \nTICKETS: \nGarden Members: Free\, but Advance Tickets required.   Join today! \nNon-members (ages 3 and up): $15 per person. \nLimited tickets.  Purchase/reserve your tickets in advance \n \nPlease note: Other areas of the Garden will not be open during this event. DESCRIPTION:Tulsa Botanic Garden members are invited to enjoy early access to the Garden beginning at 8:30 a.m. each Friday through 2026. \nThis quiet morning hour is ideal for photography\, birdwatching\, or a peaceful walk through the Garden as the horticulture team prepares for the day. It’s also a great opportunity to bring the family outside and enjoy cooler morning temperatures. A complimentary coffee bar will be available in the Visitor Center. \nPlease note that power tools and construction equipment may be in use as staff prepare the Garden for opening. \nTo reserve free member tickets online\, select your visit date and verify your membership using your membership number or email address.
