DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the Garden at night at this come-and-go event. Bring your own chairs or blanket to spread out on the lawn and look up at the night sky. Two telescopes will be set up at the top of the Tandy Floral Terraces\, with staff on hand to facilitate. The new moon will provide darker skies for celestial viewing. \nAdvance tickets are required. Tickets for ages 3 and up are $10 per person for Garden members and $15 per person for non-members. Thank you!  \nReady to work in your garden this year\, but not sure where to start?  Seeds are the very best way to get to know plants!  Even first time gardeners can find success in the garden with the right seeds. Ellen and Andy have selected seed varieties that are suited to our local growing conditions\, so that you can grow and harvest your own veggies and flowers.  Participants will be provided with 8 types of seeds\, from quick harvest radishes\, to flowering zinnias and cosmos to cut and gift to friends and neighbors.  All experience levels are welcome in this class.  We cover the basics\, will provide everything you need to get started\, and provide basic gardening information to help you grow your own.  You will also be better prepared when shopping those tempting seed displays that pop up everywhere in the spring! \nAll materials are included in the price and must be picked up at the Garden by March 12.  Materials include seeds\, growing tray\, potting media\, labels\, and crop specific information included in the kit. Free Garden admission (for registered class participant) is included when picking up class materials. DESCRIPTION:Online Class via Zoom only; Materials included and available for pickup at Botanic Garden (details below).  \nDue to winter weather\, this class has been moved to March 6 at 1pm to give all participants a chance to pick up materials. Thanks! \n$10 for Garden Members; $20 for non-members. \n \nOne facet of horticulture generating a lot of buzz lately is cut flower production for hobby and/or profits. Join Ellen Weatherholt for a workshop focusing on advanced seed starting techniques to take your gardening to the next level.  Participants will be provided a mix of seeds.  Some will be ready to plant\, others are still in their pods\, and were grown and harvested from the Tulsa Botanic Garden 2020 summer display.  All eleven varieties provided are suited to the Tulsa growing climate. We will focus on proper timing\, seed selection\, and special scarification/stratification technique. Together we will learn more about specific cut flower seeds\, and plant seeds for your 2021 crops.  We will also end the class with a question and answer session\, to help participants get a good growing start this spring! \nAll materials are included in the price and must be picked up at the Garden Visitor Center by March 5.  Materials include seeds\, growing tray\, potting media\, labels\, and crop specific information included in the kit. Free Garden admission (for registered class participant) is included when picking up class materials. There is no onsite option for this class.  \nAbout your Instructor: Ellen Weatherholt is the Curator of the Children’s Discovery Garden\, and entering her fourth growing year at the Tulsa Botanic Garden.  She is always looking forward to spring – her favorite season- with blooming bulbs and flowering trees brightening the landscape after a cold winter. Ellen has a Master’s in Public Garden Leadership from Cornell University and a BS in Horticulture from Oklahoma State University. She loves helping folks discover the joy in growing their own plants\, flowers\, and vegetables\, and enjoys leading horticulture workshops at the Tulsa Botanic Garden. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight for this 1.5 mile hike on mowed path and rocky trail.  \nHot cider\, s’mores kits\, and beer and wine will be available for purchase before or after your walk and fire pits will be located nearby. \nTICKETS: $10 per person for Garden members; $15 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:NOTE: The Garden will be closed through Monday\, Feb. 15\, 2021.  \nHOURS: Garden is open Tuesday-Sunday\, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. TICKETS: Advance tickets via online purchase are required.  Admission is FREE for Garden members;  $8 for ages 13+\, $4 for ages 3-12. Children 2 and under are free. \nDiscounted admission for SNAP/WIC participants is available: $1 for up to four people (ages 13+). Children 12 and under in group are free. Advance tickets are required and must be obtained by calling 918-289-0330. EBT card and photo ID required at check-in. \nJoin as a member or renew your membership for free admission and more! \n \n *Choose entry time. Your visit can last as long as you like\, until closing at 5 p.m.  \n \nNeed help? Watch our tutorials for Member Reservations or Buying Tickets.Members – you MUST Login to see member (no-cost) tickets. See tutorial for more information.   \nThe health and safety of our guests and staff remain our top priority. In line with CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)\, and state and local health department guidelines regarding COVID-19\, the Botanic Garden has the following protocols and safety meaures in place: \n\nGarden staff members are wearing masks and guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks/face coverings\, especially inside the Visitor Center and restroom where physical distancing of 6 ft. is not possible.\nReminders to practice social distancing while enjoying the Garden’s beauty are placed in strategic areas.\nHand sanitizer is available at stations in Garden areas.\nPlexiglas screens are installed at welcome desks in the Visitor Center.\nOnly credit cards are being accepted – no cash transactions at this time.\nSeating/waiting areas inside Visitor Center are not available.\nHigh-touch items in the Children’s Discovery Garden\, such as paint brushes\, dress-up items\, and mallets for musical instruments have been put away.\nDrinking fountains are inoperable. Refillable water bottle station will be operable.\nHand dryers in restrooms are turned off. Paper towels will be available.\n\n\nAll touchable surfaces inside our Visitor Center and restrooms are being cleaned hourly.\n\nSee all Garden visitor guidelines. \nIf you are not feeling well\, please consider visiting the Botanic Garden at another time.
