DESCRIPTION:Watch the sun set and the August Blue Moon rise over the rolling Osage hills – the Tulsa Botanic Garden is opening late for this special celestial event! The moon will be bright\, but you’ll also be able to see shooting stars as a part of the annual Leonid meteor shower. \nLearn more about our Cross Timbers ecoregion from a 30 min presentation by two of our horticulturists in our Mabee Grange Event Center. You can enjoy a self-guided hike on our 1-mile trail through native prairie and Cross Timbers forest -or- participate in a guided tour led by one of our expert Horticulturists (groups leaving every 45 minutes\, approx.). \nFOOD & DRINK: We’ll have the Grange set up with beer\, wine\, and specialty craft cocktails including “Glimmering Cosmos”\, “Whiskey Moons”\, the “Lucky You” and more. We’ll also have non-alcoholic drinks and special “Nebula Nachos” and “Satellite Sliders” for purchase (credit card only) during this come and go event.  See full menu \nNote: Trail surface is mowed path/dirt and includes uneven surface rocks and cannot accommodate strollers\, wagons or wheelchairs. Comfortable walking shoes and red flashlights/flashlights with red filters are encouraged. \nGates will open at 6:30 p.m. Guests should follow signs for parking and walking directly to the Garden’s Mabee Grange Event Center. Members of Okies for Monarchs will be giving a talk on Sunday at 11 a.m. on monarch migration and how you can help save monarchs from further decline.  Kids can try out the Monarch Migration Obstacle Course\, see live monarch rearing kits and more.   \nA Fairy Garden contest will round out the weekend’s activities. The public is invited to bring their individual fairy gardens for display and voting on Saturday and Sunday.   \n Ongoing\, Saturday and Sunday:   \n“Follow the Monarch” Exhibit by Okies for Monarchs.  As seen around Oklahoma\, including the Oklahoma Museum of Science\, “Follow the Monarchs” is a traveling art display featuring thousands of paper butterflies mimicking the monarch migration.  It will be on display in the Garden’s Visitor Center during September and October.  \nFairy Garden Contest: Drop off your Fairy Garden on Sept. 7 or 8:  The public is invited to bring their individual fairy gardens on Saturday and Sunday for display and voting in the Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden. Winners will be announced on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.  \nPlant Sale: Plants will be available for sale all weekend to those who want to take home plants to support the monarchs in their own yard.  Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)\, Blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum)\, Yellow coneflower (Echinacea paradoxa)\, Purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)\, Wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) \nMonarch Education Station in the Visitor Center: Live monarch rearing kits will be on display.  \nStory Walk in the Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden will feature the lifecycle of a butterfly.  \nStarting 10:30 a.m. each day: Monarch Migration Obstacle Course: An obstacle course will be set up on the main lawn for children (and adults) to experience elements of the life of the monarch.    \nFood: Rainbow Bowls Food Truck will be on hand both days from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.. DESCRIPTION:Bring your pup on this special day when dogs can join you for a walk (and sniffs!) in the Garden.\nWe’ll have free pup cups in the visitor center while supplies last. Get advance tickets online for a quick check-in at our Visitor Center.\n \nDogs must be up to date on all registrations and vaccinations and must be controlled on a non-retractable 6′ leash at all times. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the grand opening of the Jim and Cherry Bost Arboretum with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday\, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.  The Garden will open at 9:30 a.m. to allow guests to enter and make their way to ribbon cutting ceremony in the pergola of the Arboretum. \nThe Jim and Cherry Bost Arboretum is the newest garden area to be developed and encompasses two acres between the Visitor Center\, Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden and Tandy Floral Terraces.  An accessible main pathway winds through existing native trees underplanted with dogwood trees\, over a stream to the donor’s circle plaza and up the hillside following a shallow brook emanating from a water fall and small pond near the top. The path ends at an ornate pergola with views overlooking the Garden’s lake with glimpses to downtown Tulsa.  The pergola features a roof with laser-cut designs of tree leaves traced by grandchildren of the Bosts which cast shadows of the leaf shapes to the ground below.  \nThe Arboretum features over 100 trees including many types of oaks\, maples\, dogwoods\, ginkgos and cherry trees. Artistic pieces in the Bost Arboretum include “Megalithic Toy” a granite sculpture previously donated by Burt B. Holmes\, and nature-inspired seating created through 3D printing. \nGarden members can enjoy tours of the Bost Arboretum on Friday\, Oct. 11 during Early Member Mornings at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

DESCRIPTION:Tulsa Botanic Garden is hosting a meeting for interested public to learn about management and improvement plans for the current 1-mile hiking trail in the natural areas of the Garden’s 170-acre property. Meeting will be held on Saturday\, Oct. 19\, 11:30 a.m. in the Garden’s Mabee Grange event center. Those attending the meeting are invited to come at 10 a.m. for a tour on the current hiking trail led by Garden staff. Tour will last approx. 45 mins. Our Garden of Eatin’ refreshment stand will open at 5:30 p.m. with brats\, hot dogs\, popcorn\, pretzel bites\, and more. Stop at our Botanic Bar for beer\, wine or cocktail to sip as you stroll through our lush gardens. (check back for detailed menu. outside alcohol is not permitted). \nMUSIC is 6-8 p.m. Hot Toast Music is a family favorite!
