DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family for an afternoon with loads of fun for the kids! \nJoin us for our tenth annual DIG: Day In the Garden!  This family-friendly  event offers a picnic-like feel and lots of activities for young and young-at-heart.  \nKids can have fun with bubble-making stations\, face painting\, and a garden scavenger hunt.  A “Make a Fairy Garden” station will let kids plant and decorate their own mini-garden to take home. Hot Toast Music Company will have their interactive performance with sing along songs and instruments to play along. Families can take a photo together at our family photo booth. It’s a great way to spend time as a family\, celebrate mom and give her the evening off!  \nFamily-friendly food will be available and Josh’s Sno Shack will be onsite with snow cones for a sweet treat! \nTickets include all activities\, food and non-alcoholic drinks. Beer\, wine and cocktails will be available for sale (credit card only) \nKids are free with adult ticket.  Garden members: $45 per adult. DESCRIPTION:For ages 6 and up with a parent \nCome explore the craft of pottery with some modern twists. We will be hosting a craft day where kids can create whatever their imagination comes up with through clay. \nFrom 11 to noon\, kids can work with clay to make their own creation. We’ll have lots of tools including stamps they can use for making their clay masterpiece. We’ll also have time for a lunch break (bring a sack lunch) and exploring the Garden while clay creations are baked to dry. \nWe’ll reconvene at 1 p.m. for time to paint their pieces. It is a perfect activity to do as a group OR as an individual. The sky is the limit as far as what you can do. Think BIG\, think small\, think old\, young\, human and non-human\, traditional and original. Use your IMAGINATION and HAVE FUN! \nGreat for businesses\, schools\, scouts and other youth organizations\, families\, artists\, ….anyone! \nScarecrows will be on display September 21-October 31 during our Autumn In the Botanic Garden festivities! \nIMPORTANT DATES\nTimeline \nRegistration Opens: Monday\, August 7\, 2023 \nRegistration Closes: Wednesday\, September 6\, 2023 \nScarecrow Installation: 30min windows\, Fri. 9/15\, Sat. 9/16\, & Mon. 9/18 \nOn-Display: September 21 – October 31 \nVoting Closes: End of day Tuesday\, October 31 \nWinners Announced: November 1 \nPick-Up: 30min windows\, November 2-5 \nPricing \n$30 per scarecrow. Please\, do not use hot glue to adhere décor to your scarecrow. \nWe ask that your scarecrow be family-friendly. People from all walks of life and of all ages visit the Garden\, and we want everyone to have a pleasant experience. Please use your best judgement\, and keep political and religious messaging out of your entry. \nGarden staff will determine placement and installation of each scarecrow. Signage will be provided that will list your name (or group or business name) along with your scarecrow’s title. DESCRIPTION:BOOtanical is sponsored by Ferguson Subaru! \nThrow on your favorite costume and join us Thursday evenings in October\, 6-8 p.m.\, as the Children’s Discovery Garden transforms into an enchanting garden for a BOOtanical Experience!  Families can stroll through the lighted pathways and past non-spooky decorations to visit eleven BOOtanical booths including ghost origami\, pictures with a costumed character\, maggot painting\, and games!    \nWith a ticket to BOOtanical\, each child gets a wristband and bag for carrying their crafts and prizes.  Each child participating in BOOtanical Experience will need a BOOtanical ticket in addition to a regular admission ticket.    \nBOOtanical tickets purchased in advance are $8/participating child for Garden members\, $10 for non-member children.  Same day tickets are $10/$12 per participating child.  \n(Garden admission tickets must be purchased in addition to BOOtanical tickets.  There is no additional charge for adults accompanying children other then regular admission.)  \n \nOct. 5: Character visit: Maleficent  \nOct. 12: Character visit: Peter Pan & Tinker Bell  \nOct. 19: Character visit: Jack & Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas   \nOct. 26: Character visit: Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus   \nBOOtanical Experiences are rain or shine!
