SUMMARY:Yoga & Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Yoga & Meditation to wake up the body and refresh the mind! \nWe will begin with mindful breathing and an introspective meditation to encourage brain and heart coherence. The movement portion is about 50 minutes\, beginning with gentle head\, neck\, and spinal mobility stretches. Sequences gradually incorporate Vinyasa flows at a slow and controlled pace. Postures focus on alignment\, range of motion\, and body awareness with attunement to the breath. All levels of experience will benefit. \nAfter stretching and moving\, we will take a savasana before beginning meditation. Once the body is still\, we will focus on silencing the mind. The 30-minute meditation portion will offer guided prompts and is ultimately self-led. Please bring a mat\, a bottle of water\, and any props (such as a blanket or blocks) to aid you in your practice.  \nThis class will be led by Katie Kelly\, RYT 200. A native Tulsan\, Katie received her yogic training in the heart of the Himalayas at Triguna Yoga in Rishikesh\, India. Living and studying in an ashram taught Katie much about pranayama (breathwork) and meditation. She has been teaching for over 3 years and has a heart for sharing the integrative magic of breath\, movement\, and meditation. Her philosophical interests are inspired by the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza\, Taoism and Stoicism. \nTickets include Garden admission and are: $5 for Garden members; $20 for non-members \nAges 12-15 may attend if accompanied by parent (child will need ticket as well as parent).  Age 16+ may attend without parent.\n *Outdoor practice is weather-dependent. Comfortable clothes and sunscreen/hat/sunglasses water bottle are advised.

SUMMARY:BOOtanical Bands & Blooms: Manta Rays
DESCRIPTION:Tulsa-based rock band Manta Rays formed in the summer of 2016 by high-school friends Jackson Gillett (songwriter\, lead vocals\, rhythm guitar)\, Britton Gregory (bass\, backup vocals) and Ronnie Bunn (drums). Manta Rays later added Tristan Wright (lead guitar) to complete the group that sounds like a bridge between the classic songwriting style of the ‘60s and ‘70s with the more contemporary vibes of new age indie and Brit-rock. While Gillett’s lyrics on their 2019 debut album ‘Dust’ are often introspective they carry the weight of growing up in an increasingly-strange world with a lighthearted charm that is impossible to resist; both on the record and at their consistently packed-out live shows. Manta Ray’s are now working on their second studio album. \nWatch their latest video on YouTube.  \nFood and drinks will be available for sale at 5:30pm including beer\, wine\, cocktails\, non-alcoholic drinks\, hot dogs and more. Our Garden of Eatin’ will be selling food along with local ice cream cart Cherry & Bark. \nBands & Blooms is supported in part by Oklahoma Arts Council and The National Endowment for the Arts.\n       \nBOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating \nIn addition to live music\, food and drink\, Thursday nights in October will include optional family-friendly BOO-tanical Trick-or-Treating trail with eight fun\, educational nature-themed stations including “Maggot Painting” or “Termite Races” offered in partnership with OSU Entomology Department. \nEach child gets a trick-or-treat bag with their trick-or-treating ticket to collect unique treats like bug\, bird and wildlife trading cards\, insect toys\, vegetable seeds for planting\, candy and more. There will also be a kids’ costume contest at 7 p.m. each week on the Great Lawn.\nCost for participating in the BOO-tanical trick-or-treating: $10/child in advance\, $12 day-of\, in addition to a regular admission ticket.  \nAdd Bands & Blooms tickets to your cart and optional Trick-or-Treating tickets will be available to add before check out. \n \nAdmission:\nAdvance tickets: Members – FREE;\nNon-members: Ages 16+ | $8; Ages 3-15 | $4\nSame Day Tickets: Ages 16+ | $10; Ages 3-15 | $5 \nAll transactions at the Garden are now cashless.
