DESCRIPTION:presented in partnership with Humble Warrior Collective \nFeel the Flow for the New Year! \nGuests will enjoy a gentle\, reflective yoga session hosted by our friends at the Humble Warrior Collective\, with the magical tapestry of sunset\, leading into the evening’s full moon – known as the Wolf Moon; it’s the first full moon of the year. \nThis class will be held indoors\, inside the Tulsa Botanic Garden’s Mabee Grange event center. \nWe will embrace the energy of the current full moon with calming\, grounding poses\, gentle breathwork\, and introspective meditation to invite a sense of peace and connection with nature. We will have some “make and take” art projects as well\, so there will be activities for all to enjoy. Light refreshments will be available. \n• Please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to park and walk directly to the Mabee Grange event center for check-in. Class will begin at 7:00 p.m.\n• Mats\, blocks\, and blankets are provided by the instructor\, but you’re welcome to bring your own favorite Yoga equipment. \n**Advance purchase required – the Garden is CLOSED in January\, and all guests will need to have a ticket for entry. DESCRIPTION:Join us for this MEMBERS ONLY event as we anticipate the Oklahoma debut of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN at the Botanic Garden in March! We’ll watch the multiple award-winning documentary film Origami in the Garden and learn more about Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box\, the origami masters they collaborate with and how they create the monumental metal sculptures in their exhibitions. Kevin Box grew up in Bartlesville\, Oklahoma! \nDETAILS:\nThis Member-Only Event is FREE with reserved ticket and will be held inside our Mabee Grange event center. Gates open at 1:30 p.m.  Show tickets at Visitor Center and take short walk over to the Mabee Grange where the film will be shown. A self-led activity for children will be available in the Grange during the event. and refreshments will be available for purchase. Gordon: Born in 1953 in Claremore\, Oklahoma\, Patrick S. With spring\, and the Oklahoma debut of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN exhibition at the Garden in sight\, Mae Dean will focus on creating origami flowers\, birds and butterflies. She presents Origami programs in libraries across the state of Oklahoma\, as well as nationally and internationally.  \nMae Dean received a Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship to Japan\, and also lived in Okinawa\, Japan for two years\, where she gained firsthand insight into this ancient Japanese artform. Mae Dean was named Teacher of the Year for El Reno Public Schools and was a finalist for Oklahoma’s Teacher of the Year. She has also received the Origami USA Teaching Award.

SUMMARY:Opening Day of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN
DESCRIPTION:FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN showcases 20 installations of museum-quality metal sculptures inspired by origami\, the centuries-old Japanese art of folding paper. The larger-than-life sculptures of blooming flowers\, birds\, grazing deer\, galloping ponies\, and other flora and fauna themes will be exhibited throughout the five formal gardens at Tulsa Botanic Garden. The Oklahoma debut will also premier three new pieces by Kevin Box\, including a 17ft. tall kinetic sculpture of colorful butterflies that will float above floral displays. \nKevin Box grew up in Bartlesville\, OK and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His work has received numerous awards and is held in prominent collections worldwide. In 2004\, he was the youngest member ever elected to the National Sculptors’ Guild. \nFLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN features Box’s own compositions as well as collaborations with his wife\, Jennifer\, and world-renowned origami artists Te Jui Fu\, Beth Johnson\, Michael G. LaFosse and Robert J. Lang. \nThe exhibit includes interpretive information and cast metal examples of origami folded and unfolded. SUMMARY:First Friday Horticulture Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Garden Curator Jacob Neptune for a walking tour of our Cross Timbers Nature Trail. The Cross Timbers Nature Trail is a one-mile loop trail that traverses through the Garden’s natural areas\, part of the Cross Timbers eco-region\, where tall grass prairies and oak savannah forests intersect.  Learn about recent projects\, including a prescribed burn in fall 2024\, to help with removal of invasive species and improve habitat. Tour will meet at the back of the Visitor Center before walking to the trail head.  Trail surface is uneven surface rock and mown grass and cannot accommodate strollers\, wheelchairs or wagons.  Closed toe walking shoes are suggested.     \nTour is free with Garden admission\, however spaces are limited to first-come\, first-served sign up sheet in Visitor Center that morning.  \nPre-purchase Garden admission tickets below.

Bring chairs or a blanket\, if you like\, to enjoy the live music from local artists and fantastic views from the lawn. \nFOOD & DRINK\,  starting at 5 p.m.: Our Botanic Bar has beer\, wine and cocktails to sip as you stroll through our lush gardens! \nOur Garden of Eatin’ will have delicious food options for purchase. No outside food and drink is allowed on Thursday nights. All transactions at the Garden are cashless. \nMENU \nMUSIC: 6-8 p.m.\nThe Booker Gillespie Trio will be playing great jazz sounds and songs.  \nYour admission includes exploring the artworks of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN that are set throughout our 5 gardens. Pick up a scavenger hunt in our visitor center to start exploring! \nAdvance tickets recommended. \nTICKETS: Free tickets for Garden members!  Join today!\nAges 16+: $15\, ages 3-15: $10\, Children 2 and under: $0 ticket. \nGuest passes and reciprocal admissions will not be accepted for admission.
