SUMMARY:Caja de Agua Garden Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to join the Garden along with the representatives from the City of Tulsa and Tulsa’s Sister city\, San Luis Potosí\, as well as Tulsa Global Alliance for ribbon cutting of the Caja de Agua\, a gift given to Tulsa from San Luis Potosí.  Mayor Monroe Nichols of Tulsa and Mayor Enrique Francisco Galindo Ceballos of San Luis Potosí are expected to attend the ceremony. Free admission to the Garden will begin at 3 p.m.\, with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 4 p.m. The Garden will close at 5 p.m. \nThe Caja de Agua Fountain was gifted to the City of Tulsa by its oldest Sister City\, San Luis Potosí\, honoring 45 years of exchange\, collaboration\, and community. The fountain will serve as a lasting symbol of friendship and cultural connection between Tulsa and San Luis Potosí. \nThe fountain is a replica of the historic Caja de Agua in San Luis Potosí\, built between 1827 and 1835. The original served as a water reservoir\, fed by a six-kilometer aqueduct\, and remains a cherished landmark in the city today. \nCrafted from pink quarry stone and measuring over 8 feet tall and 12 feet wide\, the new installation will be surrounded by garden beds with plants native to the Mexican region\, walking paths\, seating and bilingual signage —creating a space for reflection\, learning\, and connection. \nThe public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.  This project is a collaboration between the City of Tulsa\, Tulsa Global Alliance and the Tulsa Botanic Garden\, with support from community partners in both Tulsa and San Luis Potosí.
