(closed July 4) It’s a great time for photography\, birdwatching or a stroll through the Garden as our horticulture team prepares for opening. Complimentary coffee bar will be available in the Visitor Center. \nNote: Power and construction equipment may be in use by staff to prepare the Garden for opening. \nMembers\, for your free online tickets\, select the date and then verify your membership with your membership number (or enter email to have it sent to you) to be able to see and select the 8:30 a.m. time slot.\nNot a member? SUMMARY:First Friday Horticulture Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Garden Curator Jacob Neptune for a walking tour of our Cross Timbers Nature Trail. The Cross Timbers Nature Trail is a one-mile loop trail that traverses through the Garden’s natural areas\, part of the Cross Timbers eco-region\, where tall grass prairies and oak savannah forests intersect.  Learn about recent projects\, including a prescribed burn in fall 2024\, to help with removal of invasive species and improve habitat. Tour will meet at the back of the Visitor Center before walking to the trail head.  Trail surface is uneven surface rock and mown grass and cannot accommodate strollers\, wheelchairs or wagons.  Closed toe walking shoes are suggested.     \nTour is free with Garden admission\, however spaces are limited to first-come\, first-served sign up sheet in Visitor Center that morning.  \nPre-purchase Garden admission tickets below.
