DESCRIPTION:Join us for this MEMBERS ONLY event as we anticipate the Oklahoma debut of FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN at the Botanic Garden in March! We’ll watch the multiple award-winning documentary film Origami in the Garden and learn more about Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box\, the origami masters they collaborate with and how they create the monumental metal sculptures in their exhibitions. Kevin Box grew up in Bartlesville\, Oklahoma! \nDETAILS:\nThis Member-Only Event is FREE with reserved ticket and will be held inside our Mabee Grange event center. Gates open at 1:30 p.m.  Show tickets at Visitor Center and take short walk over to the Mabee Grange where the film will be shown. A self-led activity for children will be available in the Grange during the event. and refreshments will be available for purchase. Garden members can also shop our Gift Shop Clearance Sale.  \nPlease note: With exception of Driskill Children’s Discovery Garden to access the Mabee Grange\, all other Garden areas and Cross Timbers Nature Trail will be closed during this event.  \nABOUT:\nSanta Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Fox exhibition ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN was created in 2014 in collaboration with some of the world’s top origami masters. The traveling exhibition of outdoor sculptures has been experienced by over 2.5 million visitors to gardens and museums across North America. \nFLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN is the newest exhibition by Jennifer and Kevin Box and features larger-than-life museum-quality sculptures of blooming flowers\, butterflies\, birds and other flora and fauna. The colorful\, whimsical and kinetic sculptures include Box’s own compositions as well as collaborations with world-renowned origami artists Te Jui Fu\, Beth Johnson\, Michael G. LaFosse and Robert J. Lang. FLORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN will have its Oklahoma debut at Tulsa Botanic Garden\, premiering three new artworks!  \nOrigami in the Garden film Trailer: \n \nOrigami in the Garden film\, 90mins\, Not rated \n“Kevin Box has always known exactly what he intends to do with his life. In his words\, “I want to have a conversation with people now and hundreds of years into the future.” Origami in the Garden documents the career arc of Kevin as he travels the world with his exhibitions of 25-foot-tall origami metal sculptures.”  \nThis documentary feature was directed by Barbara Bentree and was nominated for 21 Film Festivals and won 18 Awards.  \nTICKETS: \nSpace is limited.
