Lifting the Landscape Artist Reception

Sunday, August 26, 2018 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Meet artist Christopher Curtis at a reception on Sunday, August 26 from 4 to 6pm, with brief remarks by Curtis at 5 pm, in the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Grange. Curtis' sculpture exhibit, Lifting the Landscape, includes 15 pieces placed around the lake, many of which are new works. Works are for sale with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Garden.

Hear his process of creating his sculptures – from sourcing the rocks on his “stone safaris” to learning about its geology and finally deciding on its unique design. Curtis’ work is represented in over 250 private collections in the U.S. In addition, he has many significant public commissions, including among others: the U.S. Federal Reserve, Washington, DC; Red Rocks Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada; and the U.S. Embassy, Copenhagen, Denmark. Curtis works from his studio in Stowe, Vermont. Find more information at www.christophercurtis.com
